The Western Servers Are Gone
Kakao Games closed ArcheAge in North America and Europe on June 27, 2024, at 08:00 UTC. Credits could no longer be bought, characters could not move to other regions, and server data was deleted two weeks after the closure (TheSixthAxis). That ended ArcheAge: Unchained too, which had been merged into the base game in November 2023 (Wikipedia).
So any offer of NA or EU ArcheAge gold, items or accounts is for a game that no longer runs. Treat it as a scam.
What Still Exists
XLGAMES’ ArcheAge launched in Korea in 2013, and a new game, ArcheAge Chronicles, was announced in September 2024 (Wikipedia). If a seller offers ArcheAge gold today, ask which region and server it is for, and check that you can actually play there before you pay. ArcheAge Chronicles has its own page on MMODude.
Red Flags to Avoid
- Listings for NA or EU servers, or server names from the closed Western game.
- No region named at all.
- Sellers asking for a login to “transfer” a character to another region; Kakao never allowed transfers.
- Old guides and ads that still describe Western ArcheAge as live.
If You Want a Similar Game
Players who left ArcheAge have moved to sandbox MMOs with player trading. See our games directory for live games with reviewed sellers, and the ArcheAge Chronicles page for news on its release.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is ArcheAge still online?
Not in the West. Kakao Games closed the North American and European servers on June 27, 2024.
Can I still buy ArcheAge gold?
Not for the Western game, which no longer exists. Any NA or EU listing is a scam; ask any other seller which region it serves.
Were characters transferred anywhere?
No. Kakao said characters could not move to other regions, and server data was deleted two weeks after closure.
