Buying EverQuest 2 platinum from a third party carries scam, payment, privacy and rules risk, and successful delivery does not make the transaction officially supported. We did not find a published rule text about third-party platinum sales during our research, so read the current Terms of Service and treat enforcement as unquantified.
The Sanctioned Route: Krono
Daybreak sells an in-game item called Krono for real money. Its own FAQ explains that a Krono can be redeemed for 30 days of membership time in EverQuest and EverQuest II, can be bought from Daybreak, and can then be gifted, traded or sold to other players for in-game currency. The FAQ says plainly that Krono are not a payment method, and that their use may be restricted on Time-Locked Progression and other special-rules servers. The price quoted in the announcement was US $17.99 or less at the time, so check the current store price.
For a player short of platinum, that is the practical sanctioned option: buy a Krono and sell it for platinum on the broker or by trade. The FAQ also frames the reverse as intended use, since players with plenty of in-game currency can buy Krono from others and turn it into membership time. Earlier versions of Daybreak’s FAQ, mirrored on community wikis, also said players may not sell Krono to each other for real-world money.
Evaluate the Seller Before Paying

Delivery and Payment
Platinum is delivered by an in-game trade, so you should only need your character and server name. Never give out your Daybreak password, email login or authenticator codes, and check the amount received right away. If a seller offers Krono, remember that Krono is a real-money item sold by Daybreak, so a price far below the store price deserves a question.
Use a payment method that offers dispute rights, keep the invoice, order number and chat log, and never move to a private chat or an irreversible payment because a seller asks. Do not file a chargeback after you have received what you paid for — reversed payments are a common way sellers lose money and a common reason delivered currency gets flagged later.
Red Flags to Avoid
Prices far below what other reputable sellers charge for the same amount; guaranteed “no-ban” claims; requests for your login; unsolicited offers in chat or Discord; look-alike domains; and untraceable payment methods.

- Check the current Krono price and how much platinum it sells for on your server.
- Confirm whether your server (for example a Time-Locked Progression server) restricts Krono use.
- Compare any third-party offer with that sanctioned baseline and with a few other reputable sellers.
- Confirm delivery is a plain in-game trade with no credentials involved.
- Pay with a method that allows disputes and keep records.
- Verify the amount after delivery and secure the account.
