What the Terms Say
WARDOGS is governed by the everplay group EULA and Terms of Service plus a WARDOGS Addendum (the contracting publisher is Team17 Digital Limited; Bulkhead Limited operates the game), published in full on Steam. Account sales are banned twice over: §5.2(p) forbids selling or transferring an account, and §8.2 makes every account personal and non-transferable. Paid boosting is covered by §5.2(q), which bans commercial exploitation of the service, “including by performing services for another user… in exchange for payment”, and by §8.3, which forbids giving anyone your login details. Virtual items and currency may not be “sold, gifted, transferred, or otherwise made available to any other person” (§13.2(d)) except through features the game itself enables — and WARDOGS enables none.
§14.1 then defines Cheating to include “boosting, account sharing, or multi-accounting” (§14.1(f)) and “the purchase, sale, or exchange of in-game advantages, accounts, ranks, or progression for real-world value” (§14.1(g)). Cheating is a serious breach: suspension or a permanent ban under §14.2, and the Addendum (§9, §12.3) adds enforcement without prior warning, hardware bans, and no escape by claiming someone else was on the account.
The Official Routes
There is no official top-up for WARDOGS, because there is nothing to top up: Bulkhead has stated that in-game cash and Gold Bars will not be sold, and there is no premium currency, no top-up center and no official partner or distributor list. The only official purchases are the game itself ($39.99) and the cosmetic-only Supporter Edition ($49.99) on Steam, or Steam keys from authorised retailers. Any site advertising an official WARDOGS top-up is selling a game key or a piloted farming service under a misleading label.
What Can Go Wrong
- Documented resets, not theoretical ones. Update 0.1.2's official notes (September 30, 2026) state that players caught at real-money trading had already had their cash and progression reset, and that the launch leniency period was over.
- Permanent bans for the exact services on sale. The Economy Abuse Policy published with Patch 0.11 makes XP farming a permanent ban and cash-exploit abuse a timed ban plus a full reset; §14.1(f)–(g) puts paid boosting and RMT in the same Cheating category.
- Cash cannot change hands. There is no trading system: 'cash delivery' means a stranger logs into your Steam account (itself a §8.3 breach) or an in-match handoff scheme in a game whose developer is actively watching the economy.
- A built-in expiry date. Cash, Wardog level and role XP reset at every seasonal wipe (Season 1 lasted five weeks); bought progress evaporates on schedule even if no ban lands.
- Bought accounts are Steam accounts. A WARDOGS account listing is a whole Steam account changing hands against both games' terms, recoverable by its original owner through Steam support.
Red Flags to Avoid
- Any 'WARDOGS top-up' or 'official partner' claim — no top-up product or partner list exists.
- 'Instant Cash delivery' promises: with no transfer system, instant means they want your Steam login immediately.
- Sellers who say bans are impossible or that 'everyone does it' — Bulkhead published its enforcement tiers and has used them.
- Fresh Steam accounts with the game at deep discounts — the standard shape of region-key and stolen-account resales.
Buying Checklist
- Read the seasons first: check how long is left before the next wipe before paying for any farmed Cash or progression.
- Never hand over your Steam password or Guard codes for a 'delivery' — that login is the breach, whatever the seller calls it.
- If you use a marketplace at all, use one with escrow and keep order records; they help with the seller, not with Bulkhead.
- Price any account against the $39.99 game itself — most listings are a marked-up Steam account, not a rare asset.
The Safe Alternatives
Play the economy the game actually has: Cash comes from kills, revives, logistics and holding the Control Zone (double in the Hot Zone), every account starts a season with $10,000, and leftover Cash converts to permanent Gold Bars at the wipe. If you want the cosmetic Supporter Edition, buy it on Steam. The two reviewed vendors on the WARDOGS game page are listed for comparison; this guide's honest bottom line is that no purchase in this market comes with Bulkhead's permission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you buy WARDOGS Cash?
Not as a transfer — Cash is tied to your account and the game has no trading system. Listings sell piloted farming on your account or in-match handoffs, and the Terms (§14.1(f)–(g)) classify both paid boosting and RMT as cheating. Update 0.1.2's notes confirm real-money traders already had cash and progression reset.
Is there an official WARDOGS top-up or partner store?
No. Bulkhead sells no in-game currency: there is no premium currency, no top-up center and no partner list. The only official purchases are the game and the cosmetic Supporter Edition on Steam.
Can you be banned for buying a WARDOGS account?
Yes. §5.2(p) and §8.2 ban selling and transferring accounts, and a WARDOGS account is a Steam account — so the purchase breaches two sets of terms and the original owner can recover it through Steam.
What is the difference between Cash and Gold Bars?
Cash is the working currency: earned in matches, spent on loadouts and unlocks, reset at each seasonal wipe. Gold Bars are permanent and buy cosmetics at the Gold Market; leftover Cash converts into them at season end. Neither is ever sold for real money by Bulkhead.
