Cash vs Credits

Dead Frontier 2 has two currencies, per its wiki: cash, denoted $, is the standard currency, and Credits are the premium currency bought with real money. Cash buys items and Credits from other players, pays crafting fees and armour repairs at the workbench, and funds clan creation. Credits buy cosmetics and convenience from the credit shop.

Cash is stored separately by each character on the account, per the wiki, and can be sent to friends or your own other characters by mail with cash attached, or moved through a trader listing. The farm is therefore per character: a new character starts fresh, and cash does not pool across your account.

Missions: The Reliable Income

Missions are the steadiest cash source: the wiki lists mission completion, including daily missions and challenges, first among cash sources. Take every mission at an outpost before heading out — one fan guide’s advice is to one-click start all missions and submit them together at the notice board — so kills and looting along the way pay twice.

Mission cash scales with what you can clear safely. Pushing into buildings beyond your gear earns deaths, not dollars; a completed mission chain at your level beats a failed run at a higher one.

Looting, Scrapping and the Trader

Everything you loot is potential cash: sell tradeable items to other players through the trader at any of the three outposts, or scrap unwanted items that cannot sell above their scrap value, per the wiki. One Steam guide’s rule is to scrap on the spot with shift-click for multiples, and to sell ammo and quick-sale items at the trader immediately rather than hauling them.

Trader sales carry a 15% tax on profit, per the same Steam guide, so price with the tax in mind: an item that sells for barely more than its scrap value is better scrapped. New characters start with $50 plus starting gear, and the Steam guide puts a first scrap-and-sell pass at roughly $150 total — the seed money for a melee weapon better than the starting 2x4.

The Costs That Eat Cash

Cash drains are fixed and worth planning around: workbench crafting fees, armour repairs, and clan creation at $1,000,000, per the wiki. Repairs are the quiet drain — armour worn through hard looting costs cash to restore, so the farm’s profit is loot value minus repair and crafting fees, not loot value alone.

Do not confuse cash with Credits when pricing: Credits are the premium currency, and cash can buy Credits from other players through the trader. A player selling Credits for cash is selling premium currency at a player-set price, which moves with supply.

Buying Cash Instead

No official cash seller exists: cash is earned or traded between players. Third-party offers for Dead Frontier 2 cash or accounts carry the usual marketplace risks, and the market record is on the Dead Frontier 2 page. The farm above is the route with no counterparty.
