Read This First: Relaunch Means Unverified Rates
The methods here are documented for the earlier service; VALOFE-era rates are unverified. Icarus Online relaunched as VALOFE’s global official service on October 22, 2026. The systems below — dungeons, gathering, fishing, taming, the Auction House — are the game’s documented shape, but no current gold-earning rate, drop rate or best-zone claim for the relaunch was verified at our check. Treat every route as a method to test, not a rate to bank on.
The framing fact is the relaunch itself: a two-day-old service has no settled economy yet. The honest farm is the documented loop — earn in game, sell through the Auction House — while the relaunch’s prices find their level. Our Gold buying guide covers why no outside listing is quoted for the relaunch either.
The Fellow System: Taming as Progression
The Fellow system is the game’s hook: players tame monsters and use them as companions and mounts, for ground travel and aerial exploration. The documented method is a mini-game with a physical logic to it: unlock the Taming skill, approach the creature (from behind works best), jump onto it, then play the success/failure bar, pressing the glowing WASD prompts for a success boost. Lowering the creature’s health first improves success; higher-level targets fail more often.
Tame with a purpose, not a collection habit: the Bestiary collections tab rewards completing sets, so prioritise creatures that finish a collection over creatures that merely look good. A tamed familiar is also trade value — sealed familiars trade between players — which makes taming a farm in its own right, not just a mount hunt.
Gathering: The Zone Map
Gathering is the steadiest documented income, and its map is specific: Copper and Silver Ore in Brakarr Forest; Gold Ore, Iron Ore, Poron Mushrooms and Sage Grass in Hakanas Highlands; Amethyst and Mithril Ore plus Cherpa Snow Flowers in Parna’s Coast. Some gathered items feed taming-item crafting, so gathering and taming share an inventory — gather while you travel rather than as a separate trip.
One instance deserves its own line: Hunter’s Cave, a solo story instance in Hakanas Highlands, is documented as a good place to farm gold, iron and sage because it respawns quickly. Repeatable, solo and fast-respawning is the whole farming checklist in one room — run it between other activities rather than as a destination.
Dungeons & the Auction House: Selling the Drops
Older guidance says dungeon enemies drop more money than open-world enemies, and bosses drop gear, recipes and raw materials — the three things the Auction House turns into gold. The Auction’s managers sit in Hakanas Crossing, Kellwoods in Hakanas Highlands and Fort Baellas in the Sea of Hakanas; sellers set their own price and pay a listing fee, so the farm’s second skill is pricing, not just clearing.
Price against the relaunch, not the memory: with a two-day-old economy, yesterday’s price for a material or recipe is a rumour. List modestly, watch what actually sells, and let the Auction House teach you the relaunch’s prices before committing a week’s gathering to one listing.
Fishing: The Slow, Steady Line
Fishing is documented at Divinity Shores Fishery in Hakanas Highlands and Coral Fishery in the Sea of Hakanas, with active and automated fishing paying fish, potions and reward boxes. After level 40, trading in 10 Flowerhorn fish gives access to Paradise Island, twice a day, for a limited-time manual fishing session — a gated, repeatable window rather than an open tap.
Fish for the boxes and the routine, not the jackpot: automated fishing’s value is that it pays while you do other things, and Paradise Island’s twice-daily window is a calendar habit, not a grind. In a relaunch economy, steady repeatable income beats a speculative route every time.
Buying Gold Instead
The verified market is set out on our Icarus Online page: listings under the legacy Riders of Icarus name, naming old servers, with coverage of the new VALOFE service unverified — so this guide quotes no outside price. What play earns toward the same progress is above; the buying decision is covered, with its server warning, in our Gold buying guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you trade Gold in Icarus Online?
Yes, as documented for the earlier service: gold, silver and copper trade between players, alongside weapons, armor, seal stones, sealed familiars, potions, materials and recipes, through player trading and the Auction House. Whether those exact rules carry into the VALOFE service is unverified at our check.
What is the Fellow system?
The taming system: unlock the Taming skill, approach a creature (from behind works best), jump on, and play the success/failure bar mini-game with glowing WASD prompts for a success boost. Lowering the target’s health first improves success. Tamed creatures become mounts and companions, and sealed familiars trade.
Where is the Auction House?
Its managers sit in Hakanas Crossing, Kellwoods in Hakanas Highlands and Fort Baellas in the Sea of Hakanas. Sellers set their own price and pay a listing fee.
Do the old farming routes still work under VALOFE?
Unverified. The routes here — gathering zones, Hunter’s Cave, fishing spots, dungeon drops — are documented for the earlier service. No VALOFE-era rate, drop table or best zone was verified at our check, so treat them as methods to test in the relaunch, not as relaunch rates.
