There is no flat Clues payout per match in Identity V. Sites promising “X Clues per hour” are inventing a rate — ordinary Quick and Ranked matches pay Logic Points, and Logic Points become dice, and dice move you along the Logic Path, which is where the Clues actually are. Clues also cannot be bought: they are earned-only by design.
The earnable economy has four currencies. Clues buy characters, some custom-lobby items and Memory Spheres. Fragments buy costumes, accessories and other customizations in the Illusion Hall. Inspirations open the current season’s Essences. Spyglasses are the Event Store’s currency. Echoes sit outside this system as the paid currency — see the events section for the small free trickle that exists.
The Logic Path: The Whole Engine
Matches pay Logic Points: +500 for a win, +400 for a draw, +300 for a loss. Every 1,000 points converts to one 4-sided die, and dice move you along the season’s Logic Path — a 4,974-space board where almost every square pays something: Clues, Music Notes, Inspirations, Memory Spheres, graffiti, current-season Essences, and four exclusive rewards per season (recent seasons placed them at blocks 250, 502, 1,258 and 1,528).
The weekly cap is 42,000 Logic Points, resetting every Monday — a fully capped week is about 42 dice. Three things pay outside the cap: the first three wins or draws each day add a +500 bonus that doesn’t count toward the cap, each Diary Deduction star pays 355 points, and each Character Diary section pays 1,000. Playing in a Team or Guild adds +10% to Logic Point earnings. Keep your Morality healthy: efficiency drops below 70 Morality and drops significantly below 50.
Dice management is the one real strategy. Carryover into a new season is capped at 100 dice — anything above that is lost — so the documented play is to bank up to 100 dice in a season whose exclusives you don’t want, then spend them on day one of a season you do. Reaching block 600 in a season also lets you buy that season’s A-rarity Logic Path costume for 1,388 Echoes within a month of the season ending. In the season’s Final Push, the cap rises to 50,400 per week, the daily bonus rises to 1,200 and earnings gain +20% — and because reset week contains both a Monday reset and the season maintenance, the wiki calculates up to 92,400 points farmable that week.
Fragments: Duplicates Are the Mint
Fragments come mainly from pulling things you already own. When a duplicate cosmetic comes out of an Essence or Memory Sphere it converts automatically by rarity:
| Duplicate pulled | Fragments |
|---|---|
| S-rarity cosmetic | 2,000 |
| A-rarity cosmetic | 1,000 |
| B-rarity cosmetic | 200 |
| C-rarity cosmetic | 36 |
| D-rarity portrait / frame | 6 |
| Duplicate Survivor | 713 |
| Duplicate Hunter | 903 |
Dismantling pays too: an A-costume Unlock Card is worth 1,000 Fragments, a B-costume card 200, a general character card 500, an emote 100 (Trial Cards dismantle for far less — an A-costume Trial Card pays 27/80/187 for its 1/3/7-day versions). The wiki’s baseline routine — three matches a day, dismantling Trial Cards, events, the day-2 daily reward and the weekend quest — comes to roughly 190 Fragments a week before season-end ranked payouts. For scale, an S-rarity costume in the Illusion Hall costs 12,888 Fragments and an A-rarity 4,888, which is why the season-end tier payout (covered in the leveling guide) matters: it is the largest single Fragment credit most players get.
Inspirations are simpler: they come from Daily Login, events and Echo exchange, and open Essences at 96 per draw (960 per 10). Each Essence pool guarantees a B-tier within 10 opens, an A-tier within 60 and an S-tier within 250, at a base S rate of 0.5% — budget with the guarantees, not the rate.
Events, Spyglasses and Free Echoes
Events run on their own token currency, earned from event battle tasks and spent in the Event Shop; Spyglasses also come from regular daily and weekend missions at 50 per week. Unspent event currency is deleted when the event phase ends unless that event offers a conversion (the 8th Anniversary, for example, let Investigation Reports convert into Clues, Fragments and Spyglasses before the deadline) — so spend down before the phase closes, every time.
Free Echoes are the honest disappointment: there is no free battle-pass track for them. The documented trickles are event rewards and redemption codes (fan listings put recent codes at roughly 75–150 Echoes each, time-limited). Any site quoting a fixed “free Echoes per month” figure is making it up. The other steady Clues source worth setting a routine around is the weekly maintenance compensation — the wiki documents 200 Clues as the standard post-maintenance thank-you.
The Weekly Routine
- Play at least three winning or drawing matches daily — the +500 bonus is off-cap, so skipping it is leaving dice on the table.
- Push toward the 42,000-point weekly cap in whatever mode you enjoy; every mode pays Logic Points at the same win/draw/loss values.
- Log in daily — Daily Login feeds Inspirations and Clues, and claim the weekly maintenance Clues.
- Dismantle Trial Cards and Unlock Cards for owned items as they arrive; they are Fragment income, not inventory.
- Do the event’s battle tasks while it runs and spend its currency before the phase ends.
- Bank dice deliberately: hold up to 100 into a season you actually want the exclusives from.
Buying Echoes & Accounts
Echoes are the one currency here that money buys, and the buying guide covers the official GamesClub centre, the negative-Echoes chargeback trap in NetEase’s Terms (§5.3), and why accounts change hands at all in a game where nothing can be traded: How to Buy Identity V Echoes Safely. Sellers for this game are compared on the Identity V page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you buy Clues in Identity V?
No. Clues are an earned-only currency — they come from the Logic Path, Daily Login, weekly Morality Points rewards, maintenance compensation and events. Echoes are the purchasable currency; Clues never are.
How many Logic Dice can you earn in a week?
The weekly Logic Point cap is 42,000 points, and 1,000 points make one die — so about 42 dice from capped play, plus off-cap extras: the +500 bonus on your first three wins/draws each day, Diary Deduction stars (355 points each) and Character Diary sections (1,000 each).
Do Logic Dice carry over between seasons?
Only up to 100. The Logic Path itself resets to zero each season, and any dice above the 100 carryover cap are lost — which is why players bank exactly 100 in a low-interest season and spend them immediately in the next.
What is the fastest way to earn Fragments?
Duplicate pulls. An S-rarity duplicate converts to 2,000 Fragments and an A-rarity to 1,000, so opening Essences and Memory Spheres on an established collection mints Fragments steadily. Dismantling Unlock Cards for owned costumes (1,000 for an A-costume card) and the season-end ranked payout (up to 2,400 at Peak Tier VII) are the other big sources.
