Read This First: The Loop and the Currency
Cash is earned in the experience and spent in the experience. It buys seeds, gear, eggs and expansions from the in-game shops — the Seed Shop restocks every 5 minutes per the community trackers — and it is the threshold currency for every Rebirth. Cash and items cannot be legitimately bought for real money: Roblox’s Terms void outside purchases of Virtual Content, which our buying guide covers. Everything in this guide is earnable by playing.
The loop, as IGGM’s guide describes it: buy seeds, plant them, and your plants fight the waves of brainrots automatically. Defeated brainrots go to your inventory; from there you station the best at your base for passive income, and sell the weak ones for immediate cash. A boss brainrot arrives every 500 kills (games.gg) — the loop’s periodic payout spike and its best source of high-rarity captures.
The Rate Card: What a Brainrot Pays
Community value lists publish the per-second rates by rarity, and the spread is the whole game. Axeetech’s list runs from Noobini Bananini at $2/s (Rare) and Trippi Troppi at $5/s, through the Legendaries (Cocofanto Elefanto $275/s, Giraffa Celeste $350/s), the Mythics (Frigo Camelo $140/s, Bombini Gusini $180/s), the Godly tier (Tralalero Tralala $575/s) and the Secrets at the top — Garamararam at $2,100/s. Two Godly pedestals out-earn a garden of Rares; rarity upgrades are income upgrades, which is why the mid-game is spent hunting captures, not selling harder.
IGGM’s own note adds the second multiplier: mutations. Its mutation list runs Normal, Gold, Diamond, Neon, Frozen, Rainbow and Galactic, and mutated brainrots pay more than their base rate — with size as the third factor, since the same guide warns that a large normal brainrot can out-earn a smaller mutated one. When you compare two captures, compare the actual $/s on the pedestal, never the name alone.
Equip the Best, Sell the Rest
The game automates the stationing decision: “Equip Best Brainrots” auto-equips your highest-yield brainrots and collects their income automatically, per IGGM — use it after every session’s captures, because a better brainrot sitting in inventory pays exactly nothing. The button has a cooldown, so batch the decision: capture first, equip once.
Everything below the pedestal line is inventory to convert. IGGM’s advice is to sell the weak brainrots you will never station — their sale price is seed money for better plants, which capture better brainrots, which is the compounding loop the whole economy runs on. The exceptions are named brainrots a Rebirth requires (next section) and fusion ingredients once the Fuse Machine unlocks: those are kept at any rate, because their value is progression, not income.
The Plants Side: DPS Buys Captures
Plants do not pay cash; they buy captures with damage. The community plant trackers put the ladder in plain numbers: a Cactus (Rare) at $200 for 10 DPS at the bottom, scaling through the Sunflower, Dragon Fruit and Eggplant tiers to the Secrets — Mr. Carrot at $50,000,000 for 3,500 DPS and King Limone at $670,000,000 for 12,500 DPS. Plant spend should track the brainrot waves you are failing: DPS you do not need captures nothing extra, while a wave that breaks through costs you the captures and the boss cycle with it.
Because the Seed Shop restocks every 5 minutes, plant upgrades are a shopping routine as much as a savings goal — check the shop on its cycle, buy the DPS jumps when they appear, and let the pedestal income between restocks do the saving.
Rebirth: The Income Multiplier
Rebirthing resets your brainrots and multiplies your future: spot.monster’s rebirth chart puts the bonus at +50% money and +50% luck per Rebirth level, cumulatively — income and capture quality both scale, permanently. The requirements are cash thresholds plus two named brainrots per tier (the first: $1,000,000 with Tralalero Tralala and Bombini Gusini), and you keep your plants, gear, eggs and expansions through the reset (games.gg) — the full table and strategy are in our progression guide.
For the cash farmer the implication is timing: rebirth the moment a tier’s requirements are assembled, not after banking a surplus — the +50% applies to everything earned afterwards, and the brainrots you surrender were about to be replaced by better captures anyway. Selling a required brainrot for its rate is the one sale this economy punishes.
Buying Items & Cash
There is no legitimate cash or item purchase: the items market that does exist (FunPay’s sub-category, IGGM’s shelf) operates against Roblox’s Terms, which void outside Virtual Content transactions entirely. What those shelves sell, what they risk, and how in-game trading differs are covered in our Plants vs Brainrots buying guide. See the Plants vs Brainrots page.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you make money fast in Plants vs Brainrots?
Station your highest $/s brainrots (use Equip Best Brainrots after every capture session), sell everything below the pedestal line for seed money, and upgrade plant DPS so higher-rarity waves — and the boss every 500 kills — become captures instead of breakthroughs. Then rebirth as soon as each tier’s requirements are met: every level multiplies all future money by a cumulative +50%.
Which brainrots earn the most?
The Secrets and Godlies. Community value lists put Garamararam at $2,100/s and Tralalero Tralala at $575/s, against $2/s for a starter Rare — with mutations and size moving any individual brainrot’s real rate above or below its base number. Judge by the rate printed for the brainrot itself, not its name.
Should I sell or keep rare brainrots?
Keep the ones a Rebirth names (the first tier needs Tralalero Tralala and Bombini Gusini) and, after Rebirth 1, fusion ingredients. Station your best earners; sell the rest — a weak brainrot in inventory is seed money earning nothing, per IGGM’s guidance.
Do mutations matter for income?
Yes — mutations multiply a brainrot’s payout above its base rarity rate (IGGM lists Normal, Gold, Diamond, Neon, Frozen, Rainbow and Galactic), and size matters alongside: a large normal brainrot can out-earn a small mutated one. The pedestal’s displayed $/s is the only number that counts.
