Skeleton Forts and Voyages
Windows Central’s guide singles out Skeleton Forts, marked by a skull-shaped cloud, for big payouts in little time: beat the final boss, take the key and the keep’s treasure was often worth 10,000 to 20,000 gold. Other crews can join in and take a share, so be ready to defend it. Order of Souls voyages pay quickly, and later Gold Hoarders voyages pay well; shipwrecks, marked by circling birds, can hold high-tier loot.
Windows Central’s guide dates from the 2018 launch, and Rare has added and changed a lot since. Use it for which activities pay, not exact numbers.
Multiply It With Emissaries
Raising an emissary flag for a trading company boosts everything you sell to it once the flag reaches grade 2: +33% at grade 2, +67% at grade 3, +100% at grade 4 and +150% at grade 5, per the wiki. Events can multiply base rewards further, 1.5x for Gold Rush and 2x for Gold & Glory.
Sail With Higher-Level Friends
Lower-level pirates can sail with high-level friends without losing reward value, and the highest-reputation player proposes voyages, so crewing up with a veteran pays more.
The Gold Hoarders Grade 5 Loop
NoobFeed’s August 2025 guide describes a loop for Gold Hoarders: raise their emissary flag, reach grade 5 quickly with the Burning Blade raid voyage (sink the sub-boss ships before Flameheart), sell, then take the Ashen Pirates treasure map voyage and claim it at the Gold Hoarder tent on Morrow’s Peak in the Devil’s Roar. Each dig yields Gold Hoarder and Ashen chests; sell, lower the flag at Morrow’s Peak and repeat.
NoobFeed warns that failing to claim the voyage at Morrow’s Peak breaks the method. Rare may change voyages in later updates.
