Silver vs. Gold: Tarisland's Two Currencies

Tarisland runs on two currencies that don't convert into each other. Silver is the everyday currency — you'll pick it up constantly from quests, dungeon clears and vendoring drops, and it covers gear repairs, mounts and most vendor purchases. Gold is the scarcer currency used for auction house listings and higher-value purchases, and it's where most of the farming advice below actually matters. If a guide mentions "gold farming" in Tarisland, it almost always means the harder-to-get currency, not the Silver you're already swimming in by mid-game.

Because Gold is scarce early on, don't expect crafted items or raw materials to sell for much in the first few weeks of a fresh server. The auction house economy takes time to mature as more players hit the level cap and start needing consistent gear upgrades — patience matters as much as farming technique here.

Vigor Is the Real Bottleneck

Every gathering and crafting action in Tarisland consumes Vigor, a daily-capped resource that regenerates slowly over real time. This is the single biggest constraint on how much Gold you can realistically farm per day — you can't just gather for hours the way you might in a game without an energy system. Once your Vigor is spent, further gathering nodes give little to nothing until it refills.

The min-maxed way around this, which surfaced during the beta and still works, is running a second account: park your main character at the auction house, sell it raw materials from a second account's separate Vigor pool, then use your main's full Vigor allowance to craft and resell finished goods. It's more setup than most casual players will bother with, but it doubles your effective Vigor throughput if you're serious about the auction house game.

Dungeon Farming

Dungeons are capped at five clears per dungeon per character per day, and with eight dungeons unlocked at max level that's up to 35 total dungeon runs available daily if you're willing to burn the whole day on it. Each clear drops gear pieces with randomized stats that you can either use or vendor/auction for Silver and Gold, plus a shot at crafting materials that feed the profession economy below.

Realistically, most players won't clear all 35 runs every day — treat the dungeon cap as a ceiling to work toward on days you have time, not a daily obligation. Prioritize the dungeons that drop materials your professions actually need over farming every available instance indiscriminately.

Artisan and Alchemy Professions

Crafting is where Gold farming shifts from "grind resources" to "run a small business." Level a profession, gather the specific materials it needs, craft the items that are actually in demand, and list them on the auction house. Artisan and Alchemy are consistently recommended as the strongest Gold-making professions because their outputs — gear pieces and potions respectively — stay in demand throughout the leveling curve and into endgame.

Don't craft blindly. Check what's actually selling on your server's auction house before committing Vigor to a specific recipe — a popular potion or piece of gear will move fast, while a niche item can sit unsold and waste the Vigor you spent gathering its materials.

Dailies, Reputation and World Bosses

Daily quests give a modest but reliable trickle of Gold and are worth clearing every day even though the per-quest reward is small — it adds up over a server's lifespan. Reputation rewards with the game's factions occasionally include Gold as well, though this isn't a repeatable farm so much as a bonus you pick up while working toward reputation-locked gear and titles anyway.

World bosses are on a multi-day reset (roughly every three days) rather than daily, and they're worth prioritizing on their reset day since the rewards from a boss kill are meaningfully better than routine dungeon drops. Raid bosses, unlocked around level 30, follow a similar logic — treat them as a scheduled event to build your farming week around rather than a repeatable grind.

Auction House Tricks

Beyond the dual-account Vigor trick above, the simplest Gold-making lever in Tarisland is understanding that raw materials are worth very little early in a server's life and become progressively more valuable as demand from crafters grows. Selling every ore and herb you gather the moment you get it is rarely optimal — if you have the Vigor budget to craft with it instead, the finished product usually nets more Gold than the raw input would have.

Watch for supply gluts on popular crafted items, especially right after a content patch when everyone rushes to craft the same new recipe. Waiting a few days for the initial rush to settle before you list your own stock often gets a better price than competing directly in a flooded market.

Selling Your Gold Safely

If farming isn't for you, buying gold directly is the faster (if riskier) alternative — see our safety guide before doing so, and check current top-ranked sellers below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Gold or Silver the currency I should be farming in Tarisland?

Silver comes naturally from normal play and rarely needs dedicated farming. Gold is the scarcer currency tied to the auction house and higher-value purchases — it's what most "gold farming" advice for Tarisland is actually about.

What's the fastest way to make Gold in Tarisland?

Crafting and selling through the Artisan or Alchemy professions is the most consistent method once your server's economy matures. Dungeon farming and daily quests are reliable supplementary income, but crafting scales better with your available Vigor.

Does buying Tarisland gold carry more risk than farming it?

Farming carries no third-party risk since you're not trading with anyone, but it's slower and bottlenecked by Vigor. Buying is faster but carries the account-action risk covered in our safety guide.
