Read This First: No Official Monthly Total Exists
Cygames publishes no fixed “monthly Carats” figure, so this guide doesn’t invent one. Event calendars, campaign login bonuses and Champions Meeting results move the total every month. What can be documented is each source and its rate — itemised below — and any total another site quotes should be checked against whether it is counting the one-time bank (trophies, Archive, story) as if it were income.
The mechanics that frame everything, from uma.guide’s beginner documentation: Carats come in Paid and Free forms. They are functionally identical for normal Scouts, but some Scouts accept Paid Carats only — notably the once-a-day discounted single Scout at 50 Paid Carats per banner. A standard single Scout costs 150 Carats (1,500 for a 10-Scout), and after 200 Scouts on one banner your exchange points can be traded for the featured trainee or support card outright — the community’s “spark.” A full spark is therefore 30,000 Carats of saving, which is the number every source below should be measured against.
The Renewable Core: Dailies, Logins, Team Trials
Three sources pay on a clock whether or not any event is running. Daily missions pay 75 Carats a day when finished (uma.guide) — 525 a week of pure routine, the single most reliable line in this guide. The recurring login rewards pay Carats twice a week on top of campaign calendars. And Team Trials, the weekly ranked mode, pays a retention reward every Monday based on the class you held:
| Team Trials class held | Weekly retention reward |
|---|---|
| Class 1 | 750 Friend Points (no Carats) |
| Class 2 | 35 Carats + 1,500 Friend Points |
| Class 3 | 75 Carats + 3,000 Friend Points |
| Class 4 | 150 Carats + 4,500 Friend Points |
| Class 5 | 225 Carats + 6,000 Friend Points |
| Class 6 | 375 Carats + 7,500 Friend Points |
Class 1 is the trap in the table: hold Class 2 or better or the week pays no Carats at all. Retention is awarded for the class you finish the week in, and promotion weeks pay a separate, much larger one-time sum — covered in the bank below. Community guides are consistent that Team Trials is not optional content for a free account: it is 35–375 Carats a week plus the Friend Points that feed the shop exchanges.
The One-Time Bank: Trophies, Archive, Story, Promotions
A new account sits on a large one-time bank. Winning graded races in Career earns trophies, and each first win pays Carats by grade: G1 trophies 100, G2 50, G3 30 (uma.guide), with the trophy-related missions paying more on top. The Archive — leveled by viewing new events and dialogue, including home-screen conversations — pays 50 Carats per level, and uma.guide notes that reaching around level 60 passively, worth roughly 3,000 Carats, is not difficult alongside normal careers.
Story pays steadily: 30 Carats per Main Story episode, and Uma Stories pay 20 Carats for episodes 1–4 and 50 for episodes 5–7 per trainee. Team Trials first promotions are the bank’s biggest single cheques:
| First promotion to | One-time reward |
|---|---|
| Class 2 | 300 Carats + 3,000 Friend Points |
| Class 3 | 500 Carats + 3,000 Friend Points |
| Class 4 | 700 Carats + 4,000 Friend Points |
| Class 5 | 1,000 Carats + 4,000 Friend Points |
| Class 6 | 1,500 Carats + 5,000 Friend Points |
Around these sit the mission lists — reach-a-rank missions, career-win-count missions, epithet missions, and the G1 celebration mission sets that pay 150 Carats for simple objectives when real-world G1 races run. None of it respawns; like the Tower of Fantasy bank, it is reroll-and-first-spark money.
Monthly: Champions Meeting and Club Ranking
The biggest renewable source is monthly. Champions Meeting — the scheduled PvP tournament against other trainers’ veterans — is, in uma.guide’s words, one of the biggest sources of renewable Carats in the game, paying across its rounds and finals, with the Graded league paying more than the Open league. It is also the mode that justifies the entire training loop (covered in the leveling guide): your Champions Meeting entries are careers you finished, so a stronger stable is literally a larger monthly income.
Club ranking pays on the first of each month, scaled by your club’s total fan count for the previous month. Community references put the top clubs’ payout at up to 3,000 Carats, with typical clubs far below that — the honest takeaway is to be in an active club rather than chase a specific figure, since an inactive club pays near the floor regardless of your own play. Legend Races, when they run, pay Carats alongside the featured trainee’s Star Pieces, and double as the most reliable Star Piece source outside the gacha (see the leveling guide).
Events and Campaigns: The Swing Income
Story events and campaigns are the swing factor that makes fixed monthly totals meaningless. Story events carry their own episode Carats (uma.guide counts 8 Carat-paying episodes in a typical story event) plus event missions, and campaign login bonuses can dwarf the routine income: as a documented example from the live Global calendar, Game8’s coverage of the October 2026 New Beginnings campaign lists a countdown login bonus of 150 Carats a day for 3 days (450 total) followed by a New Year’s login bonus of 1,500 Carats on day one and 300 a day after (4,200 total), alongside 100 free pulls across its two featured banners.
The discipline is the same as any gacha with a spark: event Carats are savings with an expiry date on the event, not on the currency. Bank them toward the banner you actually planned, at 150 a pull and 30,000 a guaranteed featured pickup.
Monies: The Soft Currency and the Daily Sale
Monies are the game’s soft currency, paid out by careers, races and Daily Races, and spent in two places. The first is support card leveling — raising a card’s level consumes Support Points and Monies together (and is covered in the leveling guide). The second is the Daily Sale: a ten-minute shop that, per Game8’s shop guide, can be triggered up to three times a day by running races such as Team Trials or Daily Races, selling a small rotating stock for Monies:
| Daily Sale item (Game8) | Cost in Monies |
|---|---|
| Alarm Clock | 2,000 |
| Pleasing Parfait | 5,000 |
| Racing Shoes (random type) | 1,000 |
| 500 Support Points | 3,000 |
| Star Pieces (two random trainees) | Varies by rarity |
The Alarm Clock (a career retry) and the Racing Shoes (Potential material — see the leveling guide) are the buys that matter; the Support Points bundle is poor value next to simply running the Daily Races that pay Support Points directly. Monies accumulate faster than they can be usefully spent once your deck is leveled, so a growing Monie balance is normal — it is Carats, never Monies, that gate your pulls.
Buying Accounts
There is no legitimate third-party Carat market — Carats cannot be transferred, so what is actually traded is accounts: Global and Japan starters priced on banked Carats and the SSR trainees and support cards named in the listing, plus built accounts with trained veterans. Check the server before anything else, since Global and Japan accounts are separate pools. MMODude has not published a standalone buying guide for Uma Musume yet; the reviewed account marketplaces and what to check in a listing are compared on the Uma Musume page. How the accounts get their value — careers, star unlocks and support decks — is covered in our Uma Musume training and leveling guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Carats does it take to spark in Uma Musume?
A Scout costs 150 Carats and the exchange (spark) opens at 200 Scouts on a banner, so a guaranteed featured trainee or support card costs 30,000 Carats saved on one banner. Exchange points are per-banner and expire into Clovers when the banner ends, which is why saving to the full 30,000 before starting is the standard F2P discipline.
What is the best weekly Carat source in Uma Musume?
Daily missions are the backbone — 75 Carats a day, every day (uma.guide). Team Trials retention adds 35–375 Carats a week depending on the class you hold (Class 6 pays 375; Class 1 pays no Carats at all), and the recurring login rewards pay Carats twice a week. Champions Meeting is the biggest single renewable source, but it pays monthly.
What is the difference between Paid and Free Carats?
They spend identically on normal Scouts. The exceptions are Paid-only offers — most importantly the once-a-day discounted single Scout at 50 Paid Carats per banner (uma.guide). Free Carats come from missions, logins, story, trophies and events; Paid Carats only from purchases.
What are Monies for in Uma Musume?
Monies are the soft currency: they co-pay (with Support Points) for support card leveling, and they buy the Daily Sale’s rotating stock — Alarm Clocks at 2,000 Monies and Racing Shoes at 1,000 are the worthwhile buys (Game8). Monies never buy Scouts; Carats do.
