What Dockets Buy
Ordo Dockets are the plain money of Darktide, per GameSkinny’s currency guide: you start with a small amount, earn them for missions, and spend them on weapons and curios from the Armoury Exchange, plus weapon skins and cosmetics from the same vendor. They are the only currency whose per-mission amount you can see in advance — the mission select screen shows the base amount you will receive.
GameSkinny’s warning is worth heeding: eventually dockets come fast and plentiful and stop being the bottleneck, and the shop timer becomes the limit instead. Early on, dockets gate your arsenal; later, patience gates it. The farm changes accordingly.
Missions: The Farm
Every completed mission pays dockets, and the amount is printed on the mission before you launch, so route selection is the farm: pick missions whose payout matches the time they take, and favour missions your group clears reliably over harder missions it fails. A failed mission pays nothing for the time spent, and a fast clear on a lower difficulty beats a slow wipe on a higher one.
Difficulty raises the other rewards — plasteel and diamantine scale with difficulty, per the Steam community guide — but dockets are the mission-completion pay. Clear consistently, clear quickly, and let the other currencies follow difficulty while dockets follow completions.
Shop Discipline: The Timer Is the Boss
The Armoury Exchange refreshes hourly, and the Steam gear-progression guide’s rule is to check it and buy high base-rating grey or green items when they appear, even for weapon types you are not currently pursuing, because balance patches change what is valuable. The same guide warns against burning dockets at Brunt’s shop fishing for good base items — that is where dockets go to die.
Keep a reserve for a good roll: a player who spent everything on mediocre stock cannot buy the 365+ rated item when it appears. Dockets are easy to earn and easy to waste; the reserve is the difference.
Not Dockets: The Other Four
Darktide has five currencies in GameSkinny’s count: Ordo Dockets for the Armoury, plasteel and diamantine found in missions for Shrine of the Omnissiah upgrades, Requisitorium Coins from Sire Melk’s weekly missions (unlocked at Trust Level 11, per the Steam guide), and Aquilas bought with real money for the premium shop. Spending dockets on something another currency buys is a category error.
Weekly missions deserve their own habit: Melk’s five weeklies are completable by ordinary play, rerollable when awkward, and pay coins that buy the shop’s best-targeted items. Do them alongside the docket farm, not instead of it.
Events: Dated Docket Windfalls
Events pay dockets in lumps: one event guide’s milestone track paid 50,000 Ordo Dockets at 200 progress and 100,000 at 2,500, alongside plasteel, diamantine and a final Aquilas payout. Those are dated event rewards, not permanent income — claim them while the event runs, and never budget a build around a closed event’s milestones.
The event habit is the same as the mission habit: complete shrines and objectives efficiently, chain relic runs before final objectives, and re-queue rather than brute-forcing a group composition that cannot clear.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you farm Ordo Dockets in Darktide?
Complete missions: the mission select screen shows the base docket payout before you launch. Favour missions your group clears reliably and quickly over harder missions it fails.
What do Ordo Dockets buy in Darktide?
Weapons and curios from the Armoury Exchange, plus weapon skins and cosmetics from the same vendor. Upgrades use plasteel and diamantine, not dockets.
Should you spend dockets at Brunt’s shop?
The gear-progression guide says no: fishing for base items there wastes dockets better kept for high base-rating items in the hourly Armoury Exchange refresh.
