How Team Level Works
Team Level is account-wide: Shacknews describes it as leveling the whole account at once, so a new character starts at a useful level instead of from scratch. It raises your gear level and unlocks features. Dving puts the cap at 80, based on beta data, so check the in-game cap.
What Raises It
- Main story quests and character quests.
- Adventures each day, using Pinnacle Energy.
- Exploring areas such as the Jiangshi Metro.
- Bounties.
- The weekly Legendary Campaign mission.
- Gauntlet: Onslaught.
Where It Slows Down
| Levels | What changes |
|---|---|
| 1 to 70 | Fast story progress; materials are plentiful |
| 70 to 79 | Mythic weapon cores open up and resources start to bottleneck |
| 80 | Exotic Infusion Cores, Superposed Photons and artifact refinement, with weekly caps |
Stages from Dving. Save Mythic and Exotic materials until around 70, when you need them.
Power Level
Power Level combines Team Level with weapon, relic and artifact upgrades. Dving warns that a gap of 500 to 1,000 Power can make enemies take about twice as long to kill, so keep your best weapons reinforced and stay at or above each mission’s recommended Power. Focusing on one or two characters early helps; new ones scale to your Team Level anyway.
Leveling Boosts
Boosting sellers on our Destiny: Rising page sell Team Level packages (PlayerAuctions listed 1 to 80 at $180 on our October 14, 2026 check) along with raids and strikes. They play on your account. The free currency side is in our Lumia Leaves guide.

Why does leveling slow down after 70?
Mythic and Exotic upgrade materials become the bottleneck, and the endgame ones have weekly caps (Dving).
