The official notes do not publish the rank points table. We can describe how many ranks there are, what the rewards are and what protections exist, but not the points needed per rank. Wikipedia and the notes also use different season labels, so we follow the notes' names.

What You Are Ranking In
Naraka is a battle royale for up to 60 players in solo, duo and trio matchmaking (Wikipedia, Reported), with wuxia melee combat. The official notes separate several modes: Showdown, the ranked competitive mode, where heroes have skills and Ultimates that differ from the Survival modes; Survival modes; and Rift Traversal, a story-driven mode. The July 2 notes added multi-mode simultaneous matchmaking for Survival, Casual and Rift Traversal.
2026 Season Timeline
| Date | What the notes say |
|---|---|
| February 5 | New hero Zenda Wu and Dual Flintlocks. Rift Traversal: solo mode made permanent with its own ranking, daily 08:00 to 17:00 UTC. |
| March 12 | Showdown Season 5.0 “Paramount” launches. New hero Shayol Wei. |
| July 2 | Wanchu island map. Rerank Challenge, rank protection, party rank restrictions lifted. |
| July 16 | Rift Traversal Stormchant chapter. New weapon balance. |
| September 3 | Paramount settlement ends at 00:00 UTC; Season 6.0 “Sandforge” launches. |
Rank Rewards
The March 12 notes list tier-based avatars and badges across 8 ranks, Bronze through Paragon. The top tier awards 10 Serene Treasure Choice Gifts, 20 Showdown Seals and an exclusive Hero Badge. The September 3 notes describe the Paramount settlement similarly: avatars, Serene Treasure Choice Gifts, Showdown Seals and Hero Badges, with leaderboard avatars based on highest rank achieved and exclusive Hero Badges for the top 3 players.
Jade Disks were increased in settlement rewards and weekly match bonuses in the March update.
Protection and Returning Players
The July 2 notes add three player-friendly changes:
- Rerank Challenge: for players absent for two or more seasons, within a 30-day window, with a maximum settlement of 3,900.
- Passive teammate protection: negative points reset to zero for passive teammates.
- Ranked Points Protection implemented.
The notes do not define what counts as passive or how long the protection lasts.
Heroes Added in 2026
- Zenda Wu (February): an archer with Chaos Qi.
- Shayol Wei (March): wields the Black Tortoise's weapon and shield.
- Inor Wan (September, Season 6.0): unique Showdown skills.
- Anassa Nangong (September): a Vice Hierophant of the Cult of the Harvesters, specializing in thread-based abilities.
Balance patches target specific heroes, and the September notes changed Ye Xiu, Akos Hu and Kurumi, including Kurumi's Ultimate cost, which was reduced to 50% Rage. Shadow Corruption damage was reduced in early phases (1% per second in phase 1, 2% in phase 2).
Systems Worth Knowing
The July 2 notes raised the Intimacy level cap to 100 and added a Photo Booth lobby display, a teammate highlight pop-up after matches, and notification decoration cosmetics. The September notes redesigned the weekly quests to use activeness thresholds, so progress no longer requires clearing every quest.
How to Approach a Season
- Do the first-week Season Journey quests. They give daily rewards for 7 days, per the September notes.
- Play ranked in a team you can communicate with. The party restriction window ended August 12.
- Return after a break with the Rerank Challenge if you have been away two or more seasons.
- Check hero balance notes before picking a main, since several changed in September.
- Do not buy a boost. The notes describe rewards that reflect your own settlement.
Common Mistakes
- Using Season 5 hero tier lists. Balance moved in July and September.
- Waiting past the settlement date. Paramount ended September 3 at 00:00 UTC.
- Assuming Rerank Challenge is permanent. The notes give it a window.
