Read This First
Neverness to Everness is updated every six weeks. Version 1.3 “Rising from the Moonlit Fog” is live and Version 1.4 launches on September 30, 2026. Level thresholds and unlock details below come from fan guides that were accurate for recent versions, so check your in-game Hunter Rewards for changes.
This game does not have one level curve. Your account level, a difficulty gate, a separate city-building path and your characters all progress on different tracks, and beginners often push one and hit a wall in another. If you are here for pulls, see our Annulith farming guide. For team builds and tier lists, community sites such as Mobalytics publish them.

Hunter Level & Appraisal Level
Hunter Level is your account level. It rises from the main story, side quests, spending stamina, discovering anomalies and City Tycoon progress, and each time it goes up you can claim free rewards in Hunter Rewards, including pulls and materials. Appraisal Level is the gate above it. It unlocks at Hunter Level milestones, and character power is capped behind it.
- Appraisal upgrades come at Hunter Levels 20, 30, 40, 45, 50 and 55, according to fan guides.
- Raising Appraisal Level makes enemies tougher and improves rewards from anomaly zones and bosses.
- At Appraisal Level 3 you can dial the difficulty back if the jump feels too steep.
- Your Esper level caps expand with Appraisal Level, so check each character page after every upgrade.
Stamina Systems
There are two, and beginners usually neglect one:
- Character Pixels fund combat activities and regenerate over the day. Do not let them sit at the cap, and spend them before logging off.
- City Stamina fuels City Tycoon activities and resets weekly. The cap rises with Tycoon Level, and each point is reported to convert to 1,000 Fons, so spend it every week.
City Tycoon
Tycoon is the second progression path, and many systems are locked behind it. Unlock it early by talking to Chiz when the bank account quest appears, then let it accumulate. Fons from Tycoon pays for upgrades, so it matters as much as combat resources. Fan guides suggest spending Fons in this order:
- Invest back into your cafes: furniture, supplies and better menus.
- Shop at the Hunter Exchange for pull currency and character upgrade materials.
- Cars and fashion, which are fun but not urgent early on.
Once you buy your first apartment, Anomaly Furniture from defeated anomalies gives passive bonuses, and decorating raises your House Comfort level. One beginner guide also reports that reaching Tycoon Level 18 grants a fully upgraded copy of Chisuru, a strong free character. We could confirm that in only one source, so treat it as reported.
Your First Hours
- Decide on rerolling. Each attempt takes about half an hour because the tutorial has mandatory story sections, so most players are better off continuing.
- Follow the main story first. It unlocks Tycoon, farming areas and new systems.
- Clear episode missions and side quests as they appear. They give the largest chunks of Hunter EXP.
- Follow the Exploration Guide quests. They are a roadmap for the early game and pay ascension materials for the protagonist.
- Spend your stamina daily and finish daily missions for steady Hunter EXP.
- Aim for Hunter Level 30 to open the full cartridge farming loop.
Building Your Team
Define your main damage dealer early and build around them. Combat rewards switching characters: elemental energy accumulates from your team's reactions, and once there is enough, switching activates an Esper Cycle that becomes a major damage source. So every character contributes, but your resources should not be spread across many of them.
- Do not split upgrade materials across too many characters early. Materials become more abundant over time.
- Rotate your team instead of staying on one favorite, since the system rewards it.
- The free characters carry more than you expect. Guides say the Tycoon character is enough for most early content, so you do not need to restart for a better pull.
Gear & Upgrades
Prioritize upgrades that are guaranteed over ones that depend on luck. Weapon level, character level and character skill level are guaranteed, while cartridges, the artifact-style gear, have a large random factor. Do not spend much stamina farming cartridges before you reach the range where the loop opens, which guides place at around Hunter Level 30. Beetle Coins pay for character and Arc leveling, and Arcs, the weapons, are easier to obtain here than in many gacha games because of the lower pity.
Exploration
Traversal is part of progression. Motorcycles speed up movement, and exploring collects extras as you go, such as gifts marked on the map, phone booths and towers. Fill those in naturally instead of making special trips. Anomaly Commissions and world activities feed Hunter EXP and currencies.
Versions 1.3 and 1.4
Version 1.3 added two areas, Fogden for the story and Duskmoor for driving, a new story chapter, a summer event and two limited characters, Zankou in the first phase and Linko in the second. Version 1.4 launches on September 30 with Pukaland, a theme park area with new activities and Anomaly Commissions. Fan sites report that Hotta reveals each version's banners in a preview livestream about a week before launch. Finish current goals before an update, since new content is often gated behind Hunter Level.
Common Mistakes
- Ignoring City Tycoon. Many systems are locked behind it.
- Letting stamina cap out. Character Pixels regenerate and City Stamina resets weekly.
- Spreading upgrades across too many characters. Build one team first.
- Farming cartridges too early. The loop opens around Hunter Level 30.
- Skipping Hunter Rewards. They include pulls and materials.
- Restarting endlessly. A reroll takes half an hour, and the free content is strong.
