Key points
- Grand Launch opened October 21 at 11:00 AM PDT: Classic World is now free to everyone on the Nexon Launcher and Steam, and Founder’s Access progress carries over with no wipe.
- The launch build is deliberately small: level cap 100, the original four jobs, Victoria Island plus the Classic-World-only Forgotten Hollow — no Orbis, El Nath or third job yet, and up to three characters per account.
- Nexon has stated the cash shop will not sell XP or boost items, matching the server’s slower design.
- Bans are shared with regular MapleStory: a sanction in Classic World applies to your main account too, which raises the stakes on every purchase.
Open to everyone
MapleStory Classic World, Nexon’s permanent pre-Big Bang world inside Global MapleStory, ran its Founder’s Access from October 6 — and as of October 21 at 11:00 AM PDT it is open free to all players through the Nexon Launcher and Steam. Nothing was wiped: Founder’s Access characters, mesos and progress carry straight into the public launch, so the economy opening to everyone today is already two weeks old at the top end. Launch day brought widely reported login errors in the first hours; Nexon had not posted a notice at our check, so treat the queue stories as reports, not statements.
A small, slow launch build
The launch build caps at level 100 with the original four jobs — Warrior, Magician, Bowman and Thief — on Victoria Island plus Forgotten Hollow, an area made for Classic World. Orbis, El Nath and third job advancement are not in yet; Nexon is reworking them for later. Accounts get up to three characters, and Nexon has stated the cash shop will not sell XP or boost items — the slower grind is the product, and it is protected by design.
What it means for buyers
A brand-new, publisher-run old-school economy is the most volatile market there is: mesos prices in a fresh world move daily, scam listings cluster in the first weeks, and the stock being sold was farmed in a two-week head start. Classic World carries one extra risk most games don’t — per Nexon’s own policy, bans are shared with regular MapleStory, so a bad purchase here can cost you your main account in the other game. Our Classic World page lists the seller we have checked; whoever you buy from, start small until this economy settles.
What it means for buyers
Fresh economies punish hurry: mesos prices are still forming, and Classic World’s shared-ban rule means a bad buy risks your main MapleStory account as well. Use reviewed sellers and start with a small first order.
