What the Rules Say — and What Is Unverified
An honesty point first: no Aion 2-specific NCSoft terms clause naming third-party Kinah sales was verified in the material checked for this guide, so this page quotes none and invents none. NCSoft’s games generally prohibit real-money trading, and Aion 2’s market systems are new, but the verified facts below are the currency structure and the delivery shape, not a quoted clause.
The structure, per the Aion 2 currency coverage: global service separates currency into Bound Kinah, which pays for most character-related progression, and regular Kinah, which enables market sales and the Quna exchange. Sellers sell regular Kinah; Bound Kinah cannot be bought, because it is earned.
Kina vs Kinah: The Same Currency
NCSoft’s July 8, 2026 business-model notice spells the earned currency Kina; Kinah is the spelling carried over from the original Aion and used by most English-language guides, wikis and search results. There is no second currency called Kinah. When a seller lists “Kina” and a guide says “Kinah”, they are selling and describing the same money — but check which kind: Bound or regular.
The Quna side matters too: Quna is the shop currency, and regular Kinah exchanges into it on the market. A listing that promises Quna directly is describing a different balance from a listing that promises Kinah.
The Official Route
The official route is play: Aion 2 launched globally on October 5, 2026 for PC via Steam and NCSoft’s PURPLE platform, after early access from September 30, per the launch coverage. Currency is earned through quests, duties, dungeons and market sales, and the in-game market is where regular Kinah changes hands between players.
There is no official Kinah seller. NCSoft has not published a Kina-Quna rate, per the launch coverage, so any seller quoting a fixed conversion is quoting its own price, not the publisher’s.
What Can Go Wrong
- The new-economy problem. A server economy weeks old has volatile prices: Kinah bought at launch-week prices can lose value as more players farm, and a seller’s stock can be botted supply that NCSoft removes.
- Auction-house delivery risk. Sellers deliver through auction-house transactions: you list an item, the seller buys it. Listing the wrong item, at the wrong price, or on the wrong server strands the payment — and the guides for this delivery shape stress listing materials, not equipment, and checking the server first.
- Bound vs regular confusion. Kinah bought for market use cannot pay Bound-only progression costs. Buying the wrong kind for your goal wastes the purchase even if delivery succeeds.
Red Flags to Avoid
- Sellers who ask for your NCSoft login or PURPLE credentials to deliver.
- Listings that do not name the server and the Kinah kind (Bound or regular).
- Prices far below the market on a weeks-old server, which often means botted supply.
- Payment with no dispute path, or delivery instructions that change after payment.
If You Decide to Go Ahead
Confirm the server, the Kinah kind and the delivery method in writing before paying; list exactly the item the seller names, at exactly the price named; use a marketplace with buyer protection; and never share your login. Our Aion 2 page lists the sellers we review with their scores.
Lower-Risk Alternatives
Farm it: our Aion 2 Kinah farming guide covers the routes, and the leveling guide covers progression. On a new server, early farming also builds the market knowledge that makes later purchases — if you make any — cheaper and safer.
