Kingshot Mastery recommends saving gems for Hero Roulette: at about 1,000 gems a day you bank around 30,000 a month, and it estimates 162,000 gems, about five and a half months of saving, for a full 120-spin roulette.
Resources and Speedups
Bread, wood, stone and iron pay for buildings. The same guide estimates free speedups of roughly 5 to 10 hours a week from Daily Quests, 3 to 8 from Alliance Help and 10 to 30 from events. Save construction speedups for building events and research speedups for research events, where they also earn event points.
