There is no honest fixed “Adena per hour” rate for Lineage W. Income depends on your hunting ground, your kill speed and your server’s market, and NCSOFT does not publish drop-rate tables. What can be stated is the structure: in NCSOFT’s own words, Adena is earned “through hunting monsters, completing quests, clearing dungeons, and participating in various in-game activities” — and since July 2026 it is regularly topped up through attendance and Season Passes as well.
Two currencies run the game. Adena is the earned currency: it drops from monsters, pays out from quests and dungeons, and covers everyday expenses — HP potions, buffs, skill books, teleportation fees and crafting costs, per NCSOFT’s update notes. Diamonds are the paid currency, and they are also what the in-game Trade Market settles in, which is how a farmer turns rare drops into premium currency without spending. Keep the two wallets separate in your head: Adena is farmed, Diamonds are earned by selling to other players or bought.
Quests: The Early Engine
Early on, questing beats grinding. Community beginner guides for Lineage W consistently identify main and side quests as the best way to earn EXP, Adena and items while you are still gearing: the main quest line carries the storyline, side quests come from NPCs in the towns you pass through, and quest rewards include the basic equipment set you will hunt in. The game’s teleport system moves you straight to quest locations where teleport crystals are available, which converts travel time back into farming time.
Do not treat quests as a tutorial you outgrow. They remain a structured Adena source layered under everything below, and NCSOFT’s Adena-economy rollout explicitly leans on attendance rewards and Season Passes as regular Adena injections — claim them daily; they are the closest thing this game has to a wage.
Field Hunting: Where the Baseline Comes From
Between quests, Adena comes from monsters. Every kill in a hunting ground drops Adena and items, so your real income lever is kill speed: hunt where your current gear and Morph clear packs quickly rather than where the per-kill payout looks biggest on paper. Morphing is built for this — you transform into a monster form and keep its bonus stats for as long as you stay morphed, which is a direct clear-speed multiplier on every hour you spend in the field.
The second lever is what you do with the drops. Register items and monsters in your Codex before you sell anything (the leveling guide covers Codex set bonuses): a drop that completes a Codex set is worth permanent stats, not its vendor price. What is left over splits two ways — junk vendors for Adena, and tradable equipment, consumables and crafting materials go to the Trade Market, below.
Dungeons: The Concentrated Adena
Two dungeon layers matter for income. The Resplendent Golden Temple, added with the Will of the Crown update, opens at level 40 and runs across multiple floors; NCSOFT bills it directly as another efficient source of Adena and valuable materials — it is the first dedicated Adena dungeon most players will farm, and it should anchor your routine from level 40 on.
At the top end sit the World Dungeons. The newest pair, Chaos Ant Cave and Chaos Gludio, are open to characters of level 85 or higher for up to 7 hours per week at an entry fee of 100,000 Adena — budget the fee against the drops, which include Heroic Crafting Recipes, Golden Ant Eggs and Queen Colony gear (a Helmet and Dagger are named in the update notes). The earlier Rift of the Void world dungeon pays in equipment rather than coin: the Void Equipment Set, Hardin’s Staff and the Gloves of Faith. Cross-server world dungeons also mean PvP risk inside your farm time; that is priced into the rewards.
The Trade Market: Turning Drops into Diamonds
Lineage W’s Trade Market is the official player trading system: equipment, consumables, crafting materials and other valuable items are bought and sold between players for Diamonds. For a farmer this is the whole endgame of a good drop — a tradable item you do not need is not Adena, it is Diamonds you have not collected yet. List what your Codex does not need and your class cannot use; crafting materials from dungeon runs are the steady sellers because geared players consume them constantly.
Diamonds otherwise come from top-ups. Free Diamonds exist only at the edges — community and seller FAQs note limited amounts through events, achievements and promotions — so treat the Trade Market, not the cash shop, as your Diamond income, and price listings against what is already on the market rather than guessing.
Where the Adena Goes Now
The July 2026 update rewired Adena spending. The old sinks remain — potions, buffs, skill books, teleports, crafting, and dungeon entry fees like the 100,000-Adena World Dungeon ticket — but Adena now also buys progression directly:
- Greater Morph Draws (11-pack) and Greater Magic Doll Draws (11-pack) are purchasable with Adena with no stated purchase cap — the update’s headline change, and now the main reason to bank Adena at all.
- Shining Armor and Shining Gauntlets can be bought with Adena, limited to one of each per account per week.
- Crafting gained the complete Elite Red Knight equipment set and Resplendent Shirt pieces, which converts farmed materials into gear instead of market listings.
The discipline that follows: keep a consumables reserve first. A Morph draw bought with the Adena you needed for potions and dungeon fees is not progression, it is a debt — draws are unlimited, your weekly dungeon hours are not.
Buying Diamonds & Adena
The third-party market for Lineage W is a Diamond top-up market, not an Adena market — our vendor checks found no active vetted Adena, account or boosting sellers for this game, only Diamond offers from a small pool of sellers. Adena itself is earned in-game through the systems above; anyone offering raw Adena outside them is outside what we can verify. Compare the reviewed Diamond sellers on the Lineage W page before topping up anywhere.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you get Adena in Lineage W?
By hunting monsters, completing quests, clearing dungeons and joining in-game activities — NCSOFT’s own list. Quests are the best early source; from level 40 the Resplendent Golden Temple is the dedicated Adena dungeon, and attendance plus Season Passes add a regular top-up.
What is the Resplendent Golden Temple?
A multi-floor dungeon added in the July 22, 2026 Will of the Crown update for players level 40 and above. NCSOFT describes it as an efficient source of Adena and valuable materials, built to feed the new Adena-based Economy.
How do the Chaos World Dungeons work?
Chaos Ant Cave and Chaos Gludio (added October 2026) are open to level 85+ characters for up to 7 hours per week, with a 100,000 Adena entry fee. Documented drops include Heroic Crafting Recipes, Golden Ant Eggs and Queen Colony equipment.
Can you earn Diamonds without paying?
Only at the margins — limited free Diamonds appear through events, achievements and promotions. The steady free route is the in-game Trade Market: sell tradable drops and crafting materials to other players, because the market settles in Diamonds.
