Read This First
Wilds is a single-purchase game with no trading, so the only thing worth farming is what the game itself pays. Capcom's last base-game title update arrived in February 2026, which means the loot tables are stable. The zenny tricks you will read online are not stable: a few were written at launch, and we mark which sources are dated.
If you are new, read the Hunter Rank guide first. Almost everything here assumes you are past the story.
Two Different Grinds
| Zenny | Endgame materials | |
|---|---|---|
| What it buys | Gear, upgrades, items | Gogma Artian weapons, Armor Transcendence, talismans |
| Where it comes from | Quests, selling, fishing | Specific high-rank monsters |
| Gated by | Nothing | Hunter Rank 100 and special quests |
| How stable is the advice | Varies | Stable after the February 2026 update |
Zenny From Fishing
The method that most sources mention is also the most surprising: fishing. Dving's guide, last updated on January 2, 2026, says Goldenfish scales sell for 1,000 zenny each and Platinumfish scales for 2,000, and puts the yield at 300,000 to 650,000 zenny per hour with the best spots in Scarlet Forest Area 8 and Windward Plains Area 14 (Reported). Game8 names the same two areas, says you need a Capture Net, and sets the weather in Scarlet Forest to Plenty for better spawns.
We could not verify the per-hour range from any official Capcom source, so treat it as an estimate. Sources agree on the places and the per-scale prices. Because it needs no combat, it is also the lowest-risk method for a character with a weak build.
Zenny From Hunts
Deltia's Gaming splits advice by rank (Reported):
- Low Rank: main story and optional quests pay best. It names Nerscylla as the best target because it gives XP, zenny and sellable Monster Fluid, along with Doshaguma, Balahara and Xu Wu.
- High Rank: Tempered monster hunts and Tempered Investigations pay most. It calls a 5-star Strength Tempered Arkveld the top reward but hard, with Tempered Uth Duna, Tempered Guardian Doshaguma and Tempered Blangonga as easier options.
- SOS requests: minimal at Low Rank, a viable source in High Rank.
Dving adds that Tempered Monster hunts pay 20,000 zenny or more per quest, and that Guardian Rathalos Rubies sell for 10,000 or more each. Krano Pyrite is listed at 1,500.
The sources disagree on the ranking. One puts fishing first, the other puts Tempered hunts first. Both agree on the basics: break parts, carve everything, and sell what you will not craft with. Test fishing for an hour and compare it to your hunt payouts before you commit.
What Title Update 4 Added to the Grind
Capcom's page for Title Update 4 (Confirmed, released December 16, 2025) is the clearest official description of the endgame. In its words:
- Gogmazios is an Elder Dragon you can fight at Hunter Rank 100 or higher after the main mission “A First Cry.” Finishing the extra mission unlocks a permanent event quest to repeat. It supports up to four hunters plus support hunters for eight-person parties.
- Gogma Artian weapons are Rarity 8 Artian weapons upgraded with Gogmazios materials. They keep their reinforcement bonuses, gain one random bonus skill and one random group skill, and can be reset through Gogma Reinforce using more materials.
- Armor Transcendence needs HR 100 or higher and raises the Armor Sphere limits and powers up decoration slots on rarity 5 and 6 armor.
- Optional quests are difficult multi-monster 9-star hunts that give nameplates as rewards.
This is a better description of “what to farm” than any zenny guide: the materials that matter are Gogmazios drops, not coins. The weapon has a random roll on its skills, so the loop is hunt, upgrade, evaluate, and reset only if you need to.
The February 2026 Update
According to Windows Central's summary of Capcom's announcement, the final base-game update arrived on February 18, 2026 with an Arch-Tempered Arkveld event quest at 10 stars, a Challenge Quest version on March 19, and a Hunt-a-Thon of four Arch-Tempered monsters in a row. The same coverage lists new rewards that feed the endgame loop: Timeworn Charms, which can be appraised for rare talismans, and Battle-tempered Emblems, used to reinforce Gogma Artian weapons. (Game8 dates the same patch to February 17, which is likely a timezone difference.) The update also included CPU and GPU optimization work for PC.
How the Endgame Was Built
Game8's roadmap lists how the monster pool grew. These are the points that matter for farming:
| Date | Update | What it added to the grind |
|---|---|---|
| April 3, 2025 | Title Update 1 | Mizutsune, Tempered Mizutsune, HR Zoh Shia (HR 50), Arena and Challenge Quests |
| May 27, 2025 | Version 1.011 | 8-star Tempered Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra and Jin Dahaad |
| June 30, 2025 | Title Update 2 | Lagiacrus and Seregios, Layered Weapons |
| August 12, 2025 | Version 1.021 | 9-star hunts and the Appraised Talismans RNG system |
| September 29, 2025 | Title Update 3 | Omega Planetes, Arch-Tempered Nu Udra, more 9-star monsters |
| December 15, 2025 | Title Update 4 | Gogmazios, Gogma Artian, Armor Transcendence |
| February 17, 2026 | Version 1.041 | Arch-Tempered Arkveld, 10-star hunts |
The pattern is clear: the best gear sits behind appraisals (RNG) and special monsters, so a good routine repeats the same few quests rather than roaming.
A Routine
- Before HR 100: Run Tempered hunts for zenny and equipment materials. Test fishing once.
- At HR 100: Unlock Gogmazios, then repeat its event quest for the materials.
- Appraise talismans as soon as you have the charms; that is RNG, so do it in batches.
- Keep your Arch-Tempered quests on a weekly schedule so you do not lose limited challenge-quest windows.
The Expansion Question
Windows Central reports that Capcom confirmed an Iceborne-style expansion with a reveal planned for summer 2026. Wikipedia lists the Ascendance expansion for 2027 and a Nintendo Switch 2 version on December 4, 2026. Iceborne and Sunbreak both raised the endgame ceiling, so a Wilds expansion may too. That is our expectation, not an announcement.
Common Mistakes
- Trusting launch-era zenny exploits. Check the date on the guide.
- Resetting Gogma skills too early. Reinforcing costs materials; judge the roll first.
- Selling charms and scales you can use. Charms are for appraisal and scales for weapon upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fastest way to farm zenny in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Fan guides disagree on a single best method. One source puts fishing for Goldenfish and Platinumfish at the top, paying 1,000 and 2,000 zenny per scale. Another points to Tempered monster hunts and Investigations in High Rank. Both agree that selling spare materials and clearing quests add up.
Can I buy zenny or materials from other players?
We found no player trading system in the sources we read, and Capcom's updates describe materials as hunt and quest rewards. Be cautious of anyone offering to sell Wilds zenny, because nothing we read describes a legitimate sale route.
What do Gogmazios materials do?
Capcom says Rarity 8 Artian weapons can be upgraded into Gogma Artian weapons using Gogmazios materials. Gogma Reinforce lets you reset the skills on the weapon, also using those materials.
What hunter rank do I need for the Gogmazios update?
Capcom lists Hunter Rank 100 or higher, plus completing the main mission "A First Cry". Armor Transcendence also needs HR 100 or higher.
What is an Arch-Tempered monster?
They are the hardest hunts in the game. Capcom added Arch-Tempered versions through its title updates, including Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, Jin Dahaad and, in February 2026, Arkveld.
Is a Monster Hunter Wilds expansion coming?
Windows Central reports Capcom confirmed one in the style of Iceborne and Sunbreak, with a reveal planned for summer 2026. Wikipedia lists it as the Ascendance expansion, scheduled for 2027. Treat dates as subject to change.
