Read This First: Income per Second Is the Stat
Judge every pet by its $/sec, never its rarity tag. The pet guides are blunt about it: a lower-rarity pet from a deep biome out-earns a flashy rarity from an early one — a Common from Volcano can pay more than an Epic from Desert. Rarity colours (Rare blue, Epic purple, Legendary gold) describe the hatch, not the wage. The pen is a payroll: keep the earners, cut the rest.
The scale is enormous. IGGM’s verified roster prices the top end in billions per second — the Shattered Colossus at $3.5B/s, Nightflame at $3B/s, the Kitsune at $1.8B/s, the Unicorn at $1B/s — while a starter pet earns tens per second. Almost all of that gap is biome depth, which is speed, which is the subject of our progression guide.
The Biome Ladder
Each biome gates on speed and pays on its own scale. The community biome tables run: Forest (no requirement), Lake 900, Desert 10K, Jungle 40K, Snow 170K, Volcano 700K, Abyss Ocean 2.5M, Prehistoric 17M, Cosmic 700M, and Cherry Blossom beyond that. The top earner scales faster than the gate: Desert’s best pays six figures per second, Jungle’s millions, Snow’s tens of millions, and the Cosmic and Cherry Blossom pets reach the billions. Desert and Jungle are the practical early targets — strong income without Eternal or Divine luck.
Eggs are guarded, and getting caught sends you back toward the start with the egg returned to its nest. Where you are caught is the diagnostic: caught near your base means you are close — a trail or a little training closes it; caught halfway means the zone is beyond your current range, and no route fixes a speed deficit.
The Heavy-Egg Trap
The posted speed requirement does not account for egg weight — and big eggs slow you the moment you pick them up, sometimes enough to erase your margin entirely. The guides’ rule of thumb: for heavy eggs, aim 15 to 20 percent above the listed recommendation, and closer to double for a guaranteed clean escape with the heaviest eggs in a pool. A safe egg you can definitely carry home is worth more than a bigger one you lose halfway.
That makes egg selection a risk decision, not a greed decision. Farm the egg class your margin covers, bank the income, and let the next treadmill tier turn yesterday’s risky egg into today’s routine one.
Events and New Biomes: Update 9
The ladder keeps growing: Update 9, “Halloween Dimension” (live October 17, 2026), added 3 new biomes and 18 pets, with the Phantom Express and Echo’s quest — event biomes are new income ceilings and new pet supply at once. Event-window pets are the farm’s limited stock: hatch and hold the strong earners while the event runs, because the supply stops when it closes. The numbered updates land near-weekly, so treat each one as a re-rating of the pen: yesterday’s keeper can be today’s cut.
Buying Pets
The verified market sells the same earners: Eldorado’s TradeShield shop and IGGM’s direct shop ($0.49 to $23.99 at our check), both delivering in game on your Character Name, plus Eldorado’s in-game services (Random Eggs hatched at your feet, Treadmill Service for speed). Prices, delivery and the not-Steal-a-Brainrot warning are in our buying guide. See also the Steal an Egg page and the progression guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a Steal an Egg pet valuable?
Its income per second. Pets earn money continuously in your pen, and the rate scales with biome depth — from tens per second for starters to billions for the Divine and Eternal top end (Shattered Colossus at $3.5B/s on the verified roster). Rarity colour alone does not price a pet.
Which biome should I farm first?
The deepest one you can escape reliably. Desert (10K speed) and Jungle (40K) are the practical early targets — six-figure and million-per-second top earners without needing rare luck — and the ladder runs Lake 900 up to Cosmic at 700M.
Why do I get caught even at the recommended speed?
Egg weight. Picking up a large egg slows you immediately, and the posted requirement ignores it. Aim 15 to 20 percent above the listed speed for heavy eggs — and read the catch point: near base means close, halfway means train more.
What did Update 9 add?
The Halloween Dimension (October 17, 2026): 3 new biomes, 18 pets, the Phantom Express and Echo’s quest — new income ceilings at the top of the ladder and event-limited pet supply while it runs.
