What’s New: Act 6
Updated October 15, 2026. The latest changes that affect this guide:
- Patch 13.08 (October 13) opened Act 6. Map Rating starts every account at zero, so it reflects only games played from now on.
- Since Patch 13.06 (September 22), each Agent has its own Act Levels, Lifetime Levels and Reward Track, so XP from a match also counts toward that Agent’s track.
- The 13.08 map pool for Competitive and Deathmatch adds Bind and Corrode and drops Ascent and Split.
Full details for every major update are in the patch notes history. Sources: Riot: VALORANT Patch Notes 13.08, Riot: VALORANT Patch Notes 13.06.
What Kingdom Credits Are
Riot’s progression update introduced Kingdom Credits (KC) as a currency you can only earn by playing; it cannot be bought with real money. KC buys agents from the Agent Store, Agent Gear for agents you own, and accessories from past Battle Passes (gun buddies, player cards, sprays and titles) in the Accessory Store. Purchases with KC are non-refundable.
How KC Comes In
Every mode pays KC, and round-based modes add a bonus for each round won. On top of that, daily checkpoints pay KC and Battle Pass XP:
- There are four checkpoints a day, each with four charges, for 16 charges in total.
- Unrated, Competitive, Swift Play and Premier give 1 progress per round won.
- Spike Rush, Escalation and Team Deathmatch give 2 progress per match.
- Deathmatch does not count toward checkpoints.
Miss a day and the unclaimed checkpoints become a catch-up bonus: a 2x multiplier on one checkpoint the next day.
The 10,000 KC Cap
Riot caps KC at 10,000. Anything earned above it is lost, so if you are near the cap, spend before your next session. Riot gave a one-time grant of 5,000 KC at launch and said no further grants are planned.
Where KC Goes Furthest
- Agents you missed. New agents come with a free 28-day recruitment event; after that they move to the Agent Store, where KC, VP or Agent Unlock Tokens buy them.
- Agent Gear for agents you play, which also pays KC back at its Tier 5 reward.
- The Accessory Store, which rotates weekly, shows only items you do not own and excludes the three most recent Battle Passes and all weapon skins.
XP Alongside KC
Checkpoints also give Battle Pass, Event Pass and recruitment XP. Account level is separate: WeCoach lists 5,000 Account Points per level, about 10 per minute in a match plus 50 per win, and Riot’s FAQ confirms First Win of the Day still gives 1,000 AP. Our progression guide has the details.
Buying Accounts Instead
KC cannot be bought, and VP top-ups only come from Riot. Third-party accounts with agents unlocked are sold, but Riot’s terms forbid account sales and it has banned bought accounts in bulk; see our Valorant page before considering it.
