Does Project Ascension wipe or reset characters?
Legacy realms (like Area 52) are permanent and don't wipe. Seasonal realms (like Elune) use a designed fresh-start format rather than a surprise wipe — everyone starts at level 1, most progress doesn't carry over from the previous season, and Server First achievements reset. When a season ends, characters transfer to the Legacy realms along with any Server First rewards earned, so seasonal progress isn't lost outright.
