Ammo Removed and the Season Extended
- The October 19 update removed ammo from combat entirely to streamline it: captains no longer stockpile ammunition in cargo or warehouses, all existing ammo inventory and ammo crate blueprints were removed, and affected players were reimbursed in Silver (1 Silver for items such as cannonballs and rockets up to 5 Silver for Buoy Shells and Mortar Bombs, with blueprint refunds at full store cost in Silver and some in Pieces of Eight) via mail with no expiration.
- The current season (Year 3 Season 2) was extended by two weeks while the team prepares next season’s changes, with a further maintenance the following day to apply the extension.
- Contract fixes clarified objective text and removed invincibility from certain targets so contracts can complete, and stability fixes covered a GeForce NOW launch error, failed-join loops, and rejoining a sea monster encounter after a disconnect.
The reimbursement converts sunk ammo stockpiles straight back into Silver at fixed rates, so no captain is left holding a worthless consumable — Silver balances, not ammo hoards, are what an account carries into the extended season.

Silver is the main currency, earned by sinking ships, completing contracts and plundering settlements, and spent on the things that decide fights — weapons, ship upgrades and consumables — plus most cosmetics. Pieces of Eight are the endgame Helm currency, earned only by running smuggling orders and spent at the Helm Black Market. Gold is the premium currency, bought for real money and spent on cosmetics only. IGGM is the wired Silver seller and IGVault also runs a category.
