Rental Vendor Overhaul & Infamy Decay
- The October 12, 2026 patch overhauls Rental Vendors, per the official UO Outlands forum notes: a new “Collect All Gold” action withdraws stored gold from every owned or rented vendor at once via the My Vendors menu, vendors can be dismissed with items still in their backpack (the items move to the bank), and daily upkeep calculations now cap individual item values at 500,000 gold (5,000,000 for stack-priced listings).
- A new Infamy decay system has players lose 1 Infamy at the start of each day, rising to 2 after 3 days without gaining Infamy and 3 after 7 days; anyone at 30+ Infamy when the patch went live was reduced to 29, and Infamy gains are capped at 1 per specific player per 15 minutes, per the official notes.
- Ship combat fixes make ship-vs-ship aggression and damage tracking universally last 5 minutes, keep a Contested Ocean Boss area contested for 5 minutes after the boss dies, and make spyglasses correctly use the bonuses of the ship the player captains.
- The Monster Shuffle was reworked — starting roll cost raised to 500 (from 250), players can raise their roll cost up to 25,000 (from 5,000), and the shuffle creatures are now animated — while Training Weapons are hard-capped at 1 damage and new Distribution Loot Bags round out the quality-of-life changes.
Vendor owners feel this patch most: Collect All Gold and the new upkeep caps change how much gold a vendor setup holds and what it costs to run, so vendor-house value should be checked against the new caps — and steady Infamy decay means a murderer character’s standing now erodes daily, which matters when valuing PvP-ready characters.
