Anyone selling Rocket League items, credits or Blueprints for money is working outside the game. Psyonix's own announcement said player-to-player trading ended on December 5, 2023 and that third-party trading sites became obsolete and fraudulent. There is no legitimate item marketplace to compare, so this page does not rank item sellers.
For the competitive side of progression, see our Rocket League ranked guide.
What Changed in December 2023
Rocket League's announcement (Confirmed) says player-to-player trading ended at 4 p.m. PST on December 5, 2023. The stated reason was to align with Epic's approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, where items are not tradable, transferrable or sellable, and to support potential cross-game ownership of Rocket League vehicles in the Epic ecosystem. Previously traded items were not lost, and completed trades could not be reversed.
What Still Works: The Trade-In
The Trade-In system remained after the change, for Core Items, Tournament Items and Blueprints. It lets you exchange duplicates or unwanted items for randomized higher-rarity replacements. That is the one remaining loop that looks like old trading, but it is a one-way exchange with the game, not with a player.
Season 24 adds a second one: a Black Market Trade-In that exchanges three duplicate Black Market items for one new item (Confirmed, Rocket League's Season 24 post).
Season 24: What You Can Earn
esports.gg (Reported) gives the season as September 23 to December 9, 2026. The official post lists:
| Source | What it gives | Dates (esports.gg) |
|---|---|---|
| Run It Up | 14 challenges rewarding Nova Collection items | September 23 to December 9 |
| Persona 5 collaboration | Free challenge rewards (decals, titles, wheels); Trickstar wheels, Morgana boost and trail, Joker topper | September 25 to October 12 |
| Bullet Ball limited-time mode | Arena mode with homing ball mechanics | September 23 to October 6 |
| Creator Drops | Codes for cosmetics through the season; Rocket Rivalry features eight creators | Through the season |
| Rocket Pass | Three cars, plus wheels, boost, decal, trail and goal explosion | Season |
| Ranked leaderboards | One of five titles for a top-100 finish | Season end |
The three Rocket Pass cars are the Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50 (Octane hitbox), the Dominus GT 76 (Dominus hitbox) and the Pareto 5S (Breakout hitbox). Neither source gave the pass price or tier count, so we do not state them.
Why Not Just Buy Items?
Because there is nothing to buy from a player. The legitimate paths for getting an item are earning it in a challenge, the Trade-In, the Rocket Pass, or the in-game item shop. Offers outside those paths are, by the announcement's own words, fraudulent.
A Routine
- Finish Run It Up first. It runs for the whole season, so there is no rush, but it is the main free item source.
- Time the Persona 5 challenges before October 12.
- Hold duplicates until you have three Black Market items before using that Trade-In.
- Do not Trade-In items you like. Results are randomized.
Common Mistakes
- Searching for trading sites. They are, per Psyonix, fraudulent.
- Treating Trade-In as a swap. You get a random item of higher rarity.
- Missing a limited-time challenge window. The Persona 5 rewards end October 12.
