Asterios is one of the oldest continuously-operating Lineage 2 private server projects, launched in September 2005 and still running multiple parallel servers today at different rates. Its longevity is unusual for the genre — rather than shutting servers down as population declines, the team merges them, which means long-term players don't lose their progress.

Wipe & Reset History

Asterios has run on a no-wipe, merge model since it launched in 2005. New sub-servers are opened roughly once a year and merged into the main server after about 18 months, carrying player progress and achievements forward rather than deleting them.

Visit the official site. Go to asterios.tm to confirm the server is currently active and find the current client or launcher download.

Download the client or launcher. Get the Asterios client or launcher from the download linked on asterios.tm, not from a third-party mirror or an old Lineage 2 retail install.

Create an account and log in. Make the account on asterios.tm with a password you use nowhere else. A community-run server does not have an official publisher’s account-recovery or security team behind it.
