Dates and editions

Activision’s announcement sets Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for October 23, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, led by Infinity Ward. GamingBible reports that Campaign Early Access opens on October 16 for digital Standard and Vault pre-orders (not the physical Standard Edition), and that the PC preload starts October 15 at 9am PT with 115GB of SSD space required. The digital Standard Edition costs $69.99 and the Vault Edition $99.99, with a $30 Vault upgrade and a 10% loyalty discount on the digital Vault pre-order for eligible players until launch day.

DMZ

DMZ, the extraction mode, opens three days early on October 20 for anyone who pre-ordered digitally, Dot Esports reports. It launches on the Hajin map with persistent progression, looting, crafting and a Forward Operating Base hub, and pits players against AI forces and each other. It requires the full game.

Warzone and Black Ops 7

Activision says Warzone integrates MW4 content and seasonal progression starting with Season 1, shortly after launch. At that point Warzone stops being playable on PS4 and Xbox One; it already stopped accepting new downloads there on June 4. Black Ops 7’s Season 6 runs until MW4’s launch day.

What it means for buyers

A new Call of Duty resets the grind: ranks, camos and prestige start from zero, which is when boosting demand peaks and when fake listings appear. Nothing sold as MW4 multiplayer progress can exist before the game is out, and DMZ progress cannot exist before October 20. If you buy a boost, prefer self-play boosts from reviewed sellers over piloted ones, and avoid any account offer that asks you to change platforms or linked emails. Reviewed account and boosting sellers are on our Call of Duty page.
