What it means for buyers
Event-limited items flood marketplaces while an event runs, and they are usually cheapest mid-event. Adopt Me’s Halloween pets, TF2’s new Unusual effects and Halloween cosmetics all follow the same curve: plenty listed now, a price spike the week the event ends, then a slow settle. The trap is last year’s items listed as this year’s — Scream Fortress is on its eighteenth edition, and most of its older cosmetics look the part. Each game’s patch page lists exactly what the 2026 event added.
When they end
Second Life’s Shop & Hop closes first, on November 1. Scream Fortress runs through November 7. Adopt Me’s event keeps rolling in weekly parts toward Halloween itself, and Fortnitemares and The Haunting run with their seasons. Our upcoming patches page tracks the confirmed end dates we follow.
What it means for buyers
If you are buying event items, mid-event is the cheap window — but check the item against the 2026 patch notes first, use a seller with buyer protection, and be suspicious of any “rare Halloween” listing that cannot name the event it came from.
