Key points
- WoW Forever’s new Temporary Economy Holds can freeze trade, mail, guild banks and the Auction House on accounts Blizzard suspects of buying or selling gold.
- Delta Force will recover Tekniq Alloys gained through queue-sniping RMT trades, per its October 12 notice.
- Riot banned more than 76,000 VALORANT accounts for rank manipulation in Act 5, counting boosted players alongside boosters.
- WoW Forever gold is already listed by several sellers three weeks before the November 4 launch.
- There is still nothing real to buy for GTA 6 from third parties; the November 19 launch has drawn fake early-access shops.
This week in short
- WoW Forever: on October 13 Blizzard announced Temporary Economy Holds, which lock an account’s trade, mail, guild bank and Auction House access while it investigates suspected gold buying or selling.
- Delta Force: an October 12 notice says Tekniq Alloys gained through queue-sniping trades will be recovered, with permanent bans possible after investigation.
- VALORANT: Patch 13.08 (October 13) reports 76,000+ rank-manipulation bans of three days or longer between August 18 and October 1, with boostees counted next to boosters.
- World of Warcraft: Patch 12.1.5 is out with a 5,000,000-gold mount, a new large gold sink.
- WoW Forever gold: Overgear, Skycoach, WowVendor and LootWoW all had listings on October 13, before the game exists.
- GTA 6: security researchers keep finding fake “early access” shops and cloned pre-order pages ahead of the November 19 launch.
The pattern
Bans used to be the main risk. This week two publishers showed they can also act on the trade itself. Blizzard can freeze a suspected buyer’s economy while it looks into the account, and Delta Force says it will take back what a rigged trade produced. In both cases, the gold or items you paid for may not stay with you even if your account isn’t banned. Riot’s numbers point the same way from the boosting side: the boosted player is counted, not just the booster.
What we are watching
October 16: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign Early Access for digital pre-orders. October 20: Old School’s Fractured Archive raid and MW4 DMZ early access. October 21: ZZZ 3.3, the WoW Forever beta ends, and MapleStory Classic World’s Grand Launch. October 23: Modern Warfare 4 launches. October 26: Throne and Liberty’s auction house closes. November 4: WoW Forever launches and Old School’s Hardcore Worlds open. November 19: GTA 6.
What it means for buyers
Before buying for WoW Forever or Delta Force, assume a trade can be frozen or reversed after you pay. Keep first orders small, use sellers that offer a refund if the delivery is taken back, and avoid anything delivered by “dropping” items in a rigged match. For GTA 6, the only safe purchase right now is the game itself from the console store or Rockstar. Our release calendar has the dates above.
