Lineage 2 Adena: What NCSoft Says About Trades and Scams
Lineage 2's economy is built on Adena and player-to-player trading, and NCSoft's support pages are direct about how little it will do when a player-made deal goes wrong. A note on scope: this guide covers NCSoft's official Lineage II service; community-run private servers set their own rules, which we cover on their individual pages.
How Adena works
Adena is Lineage 2's currency, earned from hunting, quests, selling to NPCs and trading with players, and spent on gear, enchanting and services. Because trading is direct between players, much of the economy runs on trust. Our Lineage 2 Adena farming guide covers efficient hunting spots and the leveling guide covers progression.
What NCSoft says about scams and player-made deals
NCSoft's Lineage II support article “Beware of Scams” explains that a scam is a player-made agreement based on good faith that leads a victim to lose Adena or items. Because the exchange is voluntary and does not bypass in-game systems, NCSoft says it cannot assume responsibility, cannot replace lost Adena or items, and cannot take action against a player who did not keep their promise. It adds that some scams involve bugs, exploits or hacks, that players found doing this may be banned, and that victims of those scams may be able to receive assistance, with no guaranteed outcome.
Real-money transactions
NCSoft's Lineage II support site includes a dedicated article on the dangers associated with real-money transactions for in-game currency or account trades. We were not able to retrieve its text for this guide, so read it directly on NCSoft's support site before making any purchase. As a practical matter, a real-money seller is a player-made arrangement outside NCSoft's protection, which is exactly what its scam article describes.
Risks
- No recourse. NCSoft says it cannot replace Adena or items lost in player-made deals.
- Exploit-sourced Adena. Adena obtained through bugs or hacks can lead to bans for those involved.
- Account theft. Sellers who ask for your login can take the account.
Safer options
Earn Adena through hunting and crafting, and trade only for in-game value. Our Currency Calculator shows the dollar value of an hour of farming.
If you decide to buy from a third party
We cannot make a purchase compliant with NCSoft's terms, and since NCSoft says it will not help if a deal fails, the risk is entirely yours. If you go ahead, never share your login, use a payment with dispute rights and read our Lineage 2 buying guide and safety guides. Our RPGHit review describes a specialist seller with its caveats.

Is it safe to buy Lineage 2 adena from these sites?
This page lists 16 reviewed sellers for Lineage 2, and each one has its own MMODude review covering delivery speed, customer support, pricing and trust. The highest-rated is Adena-vip at 4.6/5. AccountWarehouse, Boosthive, GameBoost and SellersAndFriends score under 4.0 and carry a Caution label, so read their reviews before ordering.
