Wilderness Bound
- Java Edition 26.3, “Wilderness Bound”, released September 15, 2026 (Mojang’s official changelog on minecraft.net; the Bedrock equivalent, 26.50, landed the same day) — the third game drop of 2026.
- The drop adds the Dappled Forest biome, found near cold biomes, with Poplar Trees in red, orange and yellow leaf variants, a full Poplar wood set, fallen poplar trees, Shelf Mushrooms and Red Shrubs.
- New Abandoned Camp structures generate across many Overworld biomes, containing loot and new Explorer Maps that point to other camps and structures such as Ancient Cities, Trial Chambers, Mineshafts and Desert Pyramids. New camping items include Cushions (sittable) and Straw Beds, plus Wool Stairs and Slabs and Concrete Stairs and Slabs for all wool and concrete blocks.
- Realms gained improvements including Invite Codes and Gothic language support, and fresh 26.3 servers start with the whitelist enabled by default. The 26.4 snapshot track is already testing the Q4 2026 drop — Snapshot 5 was published October 20, 2026, and Snapshot 1 made Vulkan the default renderer. Full drops are quarterly, with weekly snapshots and pre-releases between.
The drop is free for every Java owner, so it moves servers rather than account prices: realms and servers update to 26.3 for the Dappled Forest content, and the whitelist-on default for fresh servers matters to anyone spinning up a new world.

Minecraft Items and Services: What Mojang Allows
Minecraft's official currency is Minecoins, and most of the third-party market is about items and services on community servers: ranks, keys, in-server currency and boosting. Mojang's guidelines say what server operators may sell and what in-server currency may do, and each server adds its own rules on top.
Official versus server economies
Minecoins are sold by Mojang and Microsoft for Bedrock marketplace content. Community servers run their own economies, with in-server currencies, ranks and items. Our Minecraft XP and resources guide and leveling guide cover earning progress in game.
What Mojang's guidelines say
Mojang's Usage Guidelines allow server operators to make money from their servers on conditions. In-server currency must have no real-world value and cannot be cashed out, transferred across servers or converted into any real-world currency, must not look like or be named like Minecoins, and must not suggest an affiliation with Mojang. Servers, entitlements and advertising must be suitable for all ages, and anyone paid real money must be given a purchase history. The guidelines permit selling entitlements that affect gameplay provided they do not ruin other players' experience or give a competitive advantage. The EULA separately bars selling or transferring access to a Realm, and Mojang reserves the right to suspend or ban anyone who violates its community standards or the EULA.
What that means for buyers
Buying real-money items or in-server currency from players, rather than from the server's own store, usually breaks the server's rules and, by Mojang's framing, can conflict with the rule that server currency cannot be cashed out or transferred. Enforcement is by each server's staff, who can ban you and remove items with no recourse, and outside sellers may not deliver.
Risks
- Server bans. Staff can remove items and ban accounts at their discretion.
- Login sharing. Services such as boosting often ask for your Microsoft account details, which link to other Microsoft services.
- Minor audiences. Many players are young, and scam and phishing risks are high.
Safer options
Buy from the server's official store, follow that server's rules, and use Minecoins for marketplace content. Parents should keep payment methods off a child's device.
If you decide to buy from a third party
We cannot make a purchase compliant with any server's rules, and we don't encourage breaking them. If you go ahead, never share your Microsoft login, use a payment with dispute rights and read our Minecraft buying guide and safety guides.
